Real-Time Error Handling
Upon return, all routines return an integer where negative values indicate an error condition. The negative values are standard Mimer SQL error codes, which are listed in Return Codes. Zero indicates success. In some cases, a positive return value can also indicate success.
Return and error codes specific for the Mimer SQL Real-Time API are found in Mimer Real-Time and Mimer SQL C API Return Codes. The second and third tables list all return codes that can be returned by the Mimer SQL Real-Time API itself. The rest of the tables contains real-time related errors, that comes from database server processing.
The error condition MIMER_SEQUENCE_ERROR has a special meaning. The API will enforce a strict sequence of allowed calls. MIMER_SEQUENCE_ERROR is returned when an illegal sequence of calls is detected. For example,
MimerRTBindDbpmay not be called before
MimerRTBeginSessionhas been called. Or, if the char interface is used,
MimerRTBindDbpCmay not be called before
MimerRTBeginSessionChas been called.
